The Ken Dixon Band '79-'81 Craig Bartock and I grew up playing music in Chula Vista, California. We met each other by traveling in the same circles for many years and developed a mutual respect and friendship that continues to grow to this day. Oddly enough though, we never actually played together until I stumbled into Craig's studio on El Cajon Blvd. in San Diego one night with a couple of songs to record. We enjoyed working together so much that we began collaborating on some new material. After assembling some of the best musicians in Southern California, we formed the Ken Dixon Band (which was a bit daunting for me, given the caliber of the musicians: Craig, Rusty Jones, and Jeff Moore on guitars, Bob Davis on Bass, Mark Spriggs on drums and Ron Pitner on keyboards-what a lineup!). We played seven nights a week and generally had a blast while it lasted. Here are a few pictures and a few tunes which give an idea of what was going on in those years. Maybe we'll release a CD of all the old stuff someday... We have the technology!
